Dizziness and Extreme Morning Fatigue Concerns

I’m experiencing issues related to my sleep health. Although I have no trouble falling asleep, waking up is always difficult, often falling back asleep even after a full 9 hours of rest. Occasionally, I wake up dizzy and lightheaded shortly after falling asleep. I thought it might be due to the darkness, so I now sleep with a curtain open, which helps most of the time. According to my Apple Watch, I average 7-8 hours of sleep per night, but only about 45 minutes of that is deep sleep. I’ve already reduced screen time before bed and cut off caffeine in the early afternoon. I eat light meals and am considering getting my blood tested for nutritional deficiencies, though my doctor has indicated this might have to wait due to the holiday season. I’m seeking any advice that might help with these symptoms.

Try getting some morning sunlight as soon as possible. Also, consider taking a Vitamin B complex.

There are also alarm clocks that simulate sunrise before the alarm sounds. It might help with your early morning wake-ups, especially when you need to wake up earlier than usual.

Also, cutting out caffeine completely was one of the best things I did for my sleep. It’s tough, but there’s a supportive community over at r/decaf that can help.

@Mal

Are you taking any medications that might be affecting your sleep?

It could be an issue with your daily routine, maybe from a recent change like an injury. Starting a gentle exercise routine like yoga might help.

@Hal
I haven’t mentioned any injuries, but I appreciate the suggestion about yoga.

Oops, my mistake. I confused your post with another. Apologies!

No worries!

It sounds like dehydration might be an issue. Try incorporating some light exercise before bedtime to see if it improves your symptoms.
