Please, someone tell me this is normal because it feels like we all have this half-hour where we’re just angry and don’t want to talk to anyone.
I think it depends on the situation. I used to feel super grumpy every morning when I had a job I didn’t enjoy and felt stuck in life. Now, I love my job and have more control over things, so I wake up happy most mornings.

Same here. When my work and life aren’t stressing me out, I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Waking up is the worst. I can’t stand it. My roommate is way too cheerful in the mornings, so I have my coffee alone in my room to avoid it.
Hey, what’s going on here?
My wife and I barely say more than ‘good morning’ when we wake up. She heads to yoga, and I go to the shop to get my day started. When the kids wake up, they get all the love, but that’s more for them than for me.

Come on, don’t act like you don’t need their love too. If they weren’t around, you’d definitely feel that void.

That’s a deeper issue and probably belongs in a different discussion. Let’s just say I have my struggles.
I hate waking up too. If I could, I’d just sleep as long as possible every day before starting work.
It’s something like morning depression for me. I work from home, have an okay job, and I’m generally happy, but waking up feels awful. I try to get up earlier to gather myself, but it rarely helps. I seem to have more energy after dark—maybe that’s just how I’m wired.
Look into something called sleep inertia. It might explain what you’re feeling.
Honestly, I don’t get mad. When I see the sunrise and wake up early, I feel blessed. It’s only when I oversleep that I get upset.
