I’ve been averaging less than 3 hours of sleep every night for the past 4 months. What should I do?
You should see a doctor as soon as possible.

What kind of doctor should I see? A psychiatrist?

Start with a general practitioner (GP). They can guide you on the next steps or refer you to a specialist.

You could also consider a psychologist who specializes in CBT for insomnia. It’s helped a lot of people.
I’ve been in a similar situation recently, and I really feel for you. My doctor prescribed sleeping pills to help me fall asleep, but they don’t keep me asleep all night. I’m also seeing a therapist for insomnia, taking magnesium supplements, and have adjusted my sleep routine. Things are slowly improving. I hope you find relief soon.
