I’m having trouble falling asleep because my mind is constantly active. I’ve tried turning off all screens and lying in silence for 15 minutes, but I can’t seem to fall asleep, and it’s starting to frustrate me. Does anyone have any techniques or suggestions to help calm a restless mind before bed?
It might seem tough, but sometimes it takes longer than 15 minutes. Have you tried any relaxation techniques or meditation?

Yes, I’ve tried brief meditation, but it’s hard to keep at it when nothing seems to work right away.

It might help to extend the duration a bit more, or try different relaxation methods. Sometimes consistency is key.

I might just stay up instead of trying for an hour with no results. It feels counterproductive.

That’s understandable. Sometimes taking a break from trying so hard to sleep and just relaxing might inadvertently help you fall asleep.
Getting frustrated only makes it harder to fall asleep. Maybe try doing something low energy like reading a book or listening to calm music, and then try to sleep again once you feel more relaxed.
You might need more than 15 minutes to wind down. If it’s not working, get up, do something mildly engaging like a puzzle or drawing, then try to sleep again later.
If lying in bed isn’t working, change your environment for a bit. Go to another room and do something calming like stretching or drinking herbal tea, then return to bed when you’re feeling sleepier.
