Living in a small one-bedroom apartment with my boyfriend has its challenges, especially when it comes to sleep. Our bedroom barely fits a queen-sized bed and two bedside tables. The main issue is my boyfriend’s restless sleep; he moves so much it sometimes feels like we’re in an earthquake. We’ve considered using the pull-out couch in the living room, but since he stays up later than me, it’s not a practical solution. With the ongoing housing crisis, moving to a larger place isn’t an option. I’m exhausted from the constant disruptions. Any tips on how to manage this or become less of a light sleeper?
Have you thought about using two single beds instead of one queen? You could place a shared table between them for convenience. It’s not the most romantic setup, but it could give you both a better night’s sleep.

What about two singles that can be joined to form a larger bed when needed?

That’s an idea, though it might not fully solve the problem if he moves a lot. Plus, one of you might end up without a bedside table.
Maybe try some natural remedies like magnesium glycinate before bed, or cutting caffeine by noon. Hylands Restful Legs PM tablets have also worked wonders for us!
Is there a reason he can’t sleep on the couch instead?

Probably for the same reasons she finds it difficult.
If the couch doesn’t work for you, maybe he could give it a try instead?
