I’ve been having a hard time falling asleep lately. No matter how tired I feel, my mind keeps racing the moment I hit the bed. I’ve tried some basics like limiting screen time and sticking to a schedule, but it’s still tough. What’s something that helped you sleep better?
If your mind is racing, this is your first problem rather than screen time. I find that clearing your head with some screen time might be useful. If I try to sleep directly, I can’t. But if I spend some time on TikTok or Instagram, it’s easier to sleep as I remove thoughts from my mind. Of course, I limit brightness and blue light. The harm from the screen is way below the thoughts on my mind. But that’s just me.
Try reading a book before bed.

Was this helpful? I am doing self-talks these days.
You have to find something to distract your thinking. I know it’s hard. I’ve been having sleep issues for the last 3 years and feel like I’m slowly getting better. Some people have suggested brain dumps where you write down everything you are thinking about as if to get it out of your head. I tend to think about mundane things as a distraction. I do crossword puzzles before bed or even sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night. Anything that takes my undivided attention. I know another comment says TikTok and Instagram and that has worked for me but don’t get stuck in the scroll.
Get up early. Work out hard. Eat good food. No caffeine after midday.

Do you believe that even when tired after poor sleep, I should still workout hard, just need to know as I’m unsure thanks
@Evren
I do. The days when I don’t want to go are usually the days when I leave feeling the best. However, if you’re constantly sleep-deprived, give yourself a day to get whatever you need sorted, get a good night’s sleep and hit it the next day. But don’t make a habit of it.
For me, melatonin really helped. I have to take 2 pills instead of one, but it’s working well. My brother says spray melatonin works better for him.
Banana or magnesium
This is odd, but I sort of pet myself sometimes and that relaxes me to the point I’m ready to drift. I have very sensitive skin.
Quitting coffee
Weighted blanket, indica, and YouTube self-hypnosis for sleep is a decent routine that works for me
Budpops delta 9 CBN blue lotus gummies. It’s amazing. You should definitely try.

I am going to try this one.
I used the free OptiSelf Sleep app and it helped tremendously. Basically, it just told me what works for me and what doesn’t. Magnesium, cold plunging, avoiding caffeine & alcohol were what changed my sleep.
Struggling to fall asleep can be incredibly frustrating, especially when your mind just won’t quiet down. Here are some tips that could improve your sleep: Create a calming sleep environment, stick to a consistent sleep schedule, practice relaxation techniques, avoid caffeine and heavy meals late in the day.
Beyond all the good sleep hygiene tips others have commented, I do mind exercises at night to try and quiet my brain. Try to recite your favorite movie from beginning to end in your head, or imagine walking into a well-known house and picturing its details, or try to remember every meal you ate starting with the last one.
I found that I couldn’t sleep when my feet are cold or at a normal temperature when I went to bed. But when my feet are warm, I fall asleep in less than 5 minutes. Maybe try to warm up your feet before going to bed.
Rain/wind sounds on YouTube help me sleep. There’s one specific video I always use: 8-Hour Rainy Night with Thunder - Peaceful Sleep, Meditation & Study Sounds.
