Help! I’m barely getting 4 hours of sleep a night. I’m currently on 40mg of Adderall and 100mg of Trazadone. Even when I take the Trazadone, I often wake up in the middle of the night and struggle to fall back asleep. It also leaves me feeling terrible the next day. I really need to get some sleep. I can’t keep going like this. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions based on your experiences? Sincerely, a very sleepy girl.
You might want to check out Andrew Huberman’s sunlight protocol on YouTube. It’s a simple method to reset your circadian rhythm by getting sunlight exposure in the morning for about 10 to 25 minutes, depending on the weather. This method helps regulate your sleep cycle naturally. If that doesn’t work, there’s a detailed sleep protocol in Dr. Andy Galpin’s video on ‘Diary of a CEO.’ I suggest starting with the sunlight method first; it’s surprisingly effective.
@Xander
I also use Trazadone occasionally with melatonin to help adjust my sleep cycle. It’s effective at helping me fall asleep early, especially when I’m trying to adjust my sleep schedule. Just remember to expose yourself to morning sunlight to help reset your internal clock.

Do you feel groggy the next day after taking it?

Yes, the grogginess is there, but it’s worth it for a few days to get my sleep schedule on track. I’ve been using it while I’m sick, and it’s really helped me get some necessary rest.

I’m looking this up right now, thank you so much!

Definitely check out the full video when you can. Start with the easy tips and work your way up to the more structured sleep protocols if needed. You’ve got this!
I had a similar issue with Adderall. I ended up having to stop taking it after many years because it was affecting my sleep too much.

I just started back on it after a six-month break, and it’s really tough.
@Blaine
It’s been about 78 days since I stopped after 15 years. It’s tough, but I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!

Thanks, and good luck to you too!
Have you tried Ambien?

Be cautious with Ambien, especially if you’re already taking Adderall. I experienced permanent neurological damage from using Ambien to counteract the effects of Adderall.
I switched from sleeping pills to cannabis a few years ago, and it’s been a game-changer for my sleep.

While some find cannabis helpful, it’s important to remember that THC can potentially affect sleep quality negatively, much like alcohol.
