Unable to Sleep with Eye Mask? Trying to Adjust to Sleeping at Girlfriend's House

I usually sleep well in my dim bedroom, but my girlfriend’s room faces the sun, making it hard to sleep there. I’ve been trying to get used to a sleep mask, but I can’t keep it on through the night. The bright morning light is the main issue, and while I’ve considered asking for blackout curtains, I want to find alternatives. Would sleeping with a blanket over my head help? I dread staying over because I know I won’t sleep well.

Have you tried a weighted eye mask?

I haven’t, but I struggle to sleep on my back. I tried it last night and had to switch to my stomach instead. Has anyone managed to train themselves to sleep on their back?

You can use a weighted mask on your side too, but I’m not sure how it would work for stomach sleeping.

I tend to shift a lot in my sleep, which is why I’m worried about using an eye mask. I’ve never managed to sleep through the night with one.
