I’ve been experiencing this for about a year now. Every morning I wake up, my muscles are incredibly sore and it feels as though I was hit by a bus.
Any advice other than seeing a doctor isn’t helpful in this case
It’s important to consult with a doctor as this might be linked to an autoimmune condition.
Visiting a doctor would be wise. That does sound concerning.
Consider getting a sleep study as it might be sleep apnea.
Could be chronic stress. I manage mine by dedicating time daily for relaxation, like lying down with background music and reflecting on positive daily events. It really helps to stay present and unwind.
Have you had blood tests? It could be a thyroid issue or anemia, as my doctor suggested when I had extreme fatigue.
In a similar situation, I had sleep apnea. Consider seeing a doctor. Using a sleep tracking app or making audio recordings while you sleep could also provide useful insights to your doctor.
Make sure you’re eating enough carbs. Lack of carbs can lead to poor sleep quality and low energy, which affects muscle recovery even if you’re consuming enough protein.
I suggest a blood test and a sleep study. Have you had any viral illnesses recently? I’ve been constantly tired since contracting COVID-19 two years ago, yet all my tests come back normal.

I can relate. It’s been almost three years for me too. Hang in there.
So you’re sleeping 13-15 hours daily? It’s time to see a doctor if you haven’t already.
You should get a comprehensive blood test to check for any deficiencies in vitamins D, B12, folate, and minerals like iron, zinc, selenium, as well as thyroid, liver, kidney functions, and sex hormones. Consider cutting sugar and switching to unprocessed foods.
Have you tried iron supplements?
It might be a good idea to check your B12 levels as well.
I had to leave my job due to similar issues and discovered I was severely deficient in vitamin D3, which most primary doctors don’t usually check.
Could it be depression?
What’s your caffeine intake like? Any underlying health conditions?
Your B12 levels might be low, which is common if you’re a vegetarian. Consider taking supplements and eating B12-rich foods like sardines.
I recommend seeing a doctor. Have you experienced any traumatic events recently?
