I keep rolling off of my bed in my sleep… anyone else deal with this?

I am a really active sleeper. I used to sleepwalk well into my thirties, I yell things in my sleep, and I move around a lot, which drives my wife crazy.

It’s also a safety issue. At least once or twice a month I roll off the bed, and last time, according to my wife, I almost hit my head on the nightstand. I’ve been seeing a doctor about this for years, but now I’m wondering if there’s anything mattress-related that could help. Is there a bed designed to prevent rolling off? I really don’t want to have to use rails. Has anyone had success with something like this?

Appreciate any advice you might have!

I don’t roll off my bed, but my wife was worried that she might. I did some research, and what you need is a mattress with strong edge support all around. Our Helix Midnight Luxe has this feature, and there are several good mattress options with this kind of support.

Another option, as someone else suggested, is to put the bed against the wall on your side, if that works with your room layout.

You could always try putting your bed in the corner of the room. Your wife can sleep on the side that’s not against the wall.

Have you considered sleeping on the floor? It might sound weird, but it could help if you’re really worried about falling off.

Just build a pillow fortress around your bed! :joy:
