My own farts keep waking me up at night

I’ve been trying to improve my sleep quality, but I’m frequently woken up by my own loud farts. It’s probably related to my diet, as I eat a lot of protein to recover from my physical activities. I don’t want to change my diet, but I need a solution for the loudness of my farts, which sound like a high-pitched squeak.

Have you considered using earplugs? They might help with the noise.

I’ve tried earplugs before and didn’t find them comfortable.

I understand. There are different types now that might be more comfortable. I found some soft, squishy ones on Amazon, and there are also Loop ones designed for smaller ears. They might be worth a try. Good luck.

If earplugs aren’t your thing, maybe try a white noise machine. It could help mask the noises. I used to have a similar problem, and the machine has helped a lot.

That’s a good idea. I used to use my phone for white noise but moved it out of the room to avoid distractions. A dedicated machine might be the solution.

Excessive gas might not be normal. Have you considered a low-gas diet, like a low FODMAP diet, to see if it helps?

You might want to try Shreddies flatulence filter underwear. They include a carbon filter that not only masks smells but also reduces noise significantly.

That sounds intriguing. Are they comfortable to wear?

@Tegan
They’re not as comfy as regular underwear, but you get used to them. I had to switch because of diet changes, and they’ve been a game changer for me.

It might be time to look into some digestive health remedies.
