Seeking Help for a Unique Sleep Pattern Issue

Hello from Russia. I’ve noticed a peculiar habit in my morning routine: I set a timer for 2-3 minutes, lie down, nearly fall asleep, wake up when the timer goes off, and then set it again. This cycle repeats for about an hour each morning. The brief moments of waking from sleep give me a strong sense of pleasure, making it hard to stop this cycle and get out of bed. I feel extremely apathetic during this process, and it’s challenging to even open my eyes. I have to wait until the cycle naturally concludes. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Any advice from medical professionals would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you’re experiencing a sort of conditioned response to the timer. A ‘hard reset’ on sleep by staying awake for an extended period might help recalibrate your sleep pattern. Try to stay awake for a full day until about 19:00 the next evening without relying on stimulants like caffeine or alcohol. This could help reset your internal clock and improve your overall sleep quality.

@Dara
Thanks for the suggestion! I plan to try this reset over the weekend to see if it helps break the cycle.
