What’s The Unicorn Project about?
@Raven
It’s a sequel to The Phoenix Project. Both are novels about IT management. They deal with workplace challenges, office politics, and turning things around with better practices. It’s a bit like reading a season of Silicon Valley or another office drama.
Thanks for sharing this! Your transformation is really inspiring!
Is reading on a phone okay? I only have digital books and prefer to have them all with me anywhere.

From my experience, a real book or e-reader is better. It’s too easy to get distracted on a phone.

Screens emit blue light, which messes with sleep quality by tricking your brain into thinking it’s daylight. This is why I stopped using my phone before bed and picked up physical books.
I don’t buy printed books either, though. My library has all the books I need, so I just borrow from there.
@Phoenix
Thank you from a former librarian! I love my library, too. I read one library book, then one I own. My to-read list is huge.

I got a Kobo, and it’s a game-changer. The backlight is warm, and you can borrow library books on it, too.
@Page
I use dark mode and wear blue-light-blocking glasses before bed, so that should be okay for now.

That works! For me, I’d end up distracted and scrolling on my phone rather than reading. But if you can focus, go for it.
@Page
Yep, distractions are my main downfall with phone reading too.

Using dark mode can help! It reduces the light impact to about what you’d get with a reading lamp.

I have a Kindle Paperwhite and love it. I turn up the warmth setting before bed to avoid blue light, and you can set it to dark mode too.

I used to be really good about reading before bed, but since summer break, I’ve been staying up late scrolling on TikTok and YouTube, and my sleep is totally off now.
Yeah, avoiding the phone is key. Everything else depends on that.
I want to read before bed too but have been looking for a good incandescent book light. All the ones I find are LED and don’t light the page evenly.
