What’s the best sleep supplement?

I’ve been experimenting with a ton of sleep supplements over the last 6 months but haven’t managed to find anything that:

  1. Helps me sleep
  2. Doesn’t make me feel groggy af the next day

Anyone got ideas? I’ve tried magnesium and melatonin so far.

I think everyone will tell about melatonin and magnesium but confident you already tried them. Melatonin doesn’t work for me as well. I would just recommend checking if you are taking the proper dose of magnesium + try magnesium oil spray + Vitamin B and L-Theanine (perfect for relaxation and brain) Reduce sugar, alcohol, coffee to zero as it increases your cortisol and doesn’t allow you to sleep. But anyway, there are factors we do not take into consideration like your work load, where and how you sleep.

@Oren
This, high dose B1 which is L-theanine immensely helped me to get sleepy before bed. Every time I take it, my deep sleep phase is twice as long compared to the nights when I don’t take it.

How much is a high dose?

@Marlon
In my case, it’s 300% of the daily recommended dose of B1.

And what would that be equivalent to in terms of mg or whatever unit you are using?

On my package, it says 3.3 mg.

@Colby
Thank you so much for that answer! Exactly what I was asking for.

You’re welcome!

@Oren
Yeah okay thanks. I haven’t tried L-theanine or vitamin B.

Did magnesium and melatonin not help at all? I’ve also tried Nyquil, but all 3 made me sweat a lot at night, which was uncomfortable, so I stopped.

So it helped me sleep but I felt really groggy and had a ton of brain fog the next day.

@Arden
How much melatonin and how many hours before sleep?

I honestly can’t remember. Maybe I should play around with dosage?

The recommended dosage is 0.3mg. And if you still feel groggy the next day, try taking it earlier like 2-3 hours before bed.

@Roux
And if 0.3 isn’t enough, then 0.6mg.

@Roux
Thanks! Will try.

@Arden

The human brain consumes 30% of calories and it’s the main reason for sleep. While I agree with you about exercise, intellectual exertion is not nothing.
