Damn maybe it’s a CPTSD thing. I’m living with my abuser right now and trying to get out so who knows, maybe it all starts to steadily improve as soon as I’m like, truly emotionally safe for the first time
@Ren
That need for background noise or comfort shows might be your way of creating a small, safe pocket of control in a really difficult environment…be strong

Ruminations are the worst. That’s why cognitive shuffling works because it moves your mind away from ruminations and racing thoughts & then you just focus on non-threatening, pleasant thoughts.

Love it… and absolutely, ruminations can feel like an endless loop you can’t escape from.

It’s all about finding your own balance and what gives your brain the space to rest.

For me, it was removing my phone & TV from my bedroom. I switched to a classic, super simple alarm clock and I’ve never looked back.
Nostalgic vibe!
CBD oil, sleep mask with rain sounds, magnesium and melatonin occasionally when sleep is being stubborn. Also if I wake up in the middle of the night, a spoonful of peanut butter seems to help me drift off again.
@Gray
YESSS! try CBN+CBD oil. I use CBN+CBD Deep Sleep tincture by herbal garden essentials and it knocks me out really good. CBN is a lot more sedating than CBD and is specifically for insomnia. I also stack it with magnesium glycinate and valerian root. Get some amazing sleep
@Amir
How do those compare with melatonin?
Melatonin is more of a ‘signal’ for your body that it’s time to sleep, while CBN and CBD work more on a physiological level to help your body stay relaxed and fall into deeper sleep. Some people even combine melatonin with these other supplements to get the best of both worlds! But, the response can vary from person to person. It’s all about finding the right balance that works for you.
@Amir
Definitely a pro move!
@Gray
Interesting! Did you think of the peanut butter yourself or hear about it?
@Gray
What kind of CBD oil? Did you struggle with staying asleep at some point before?
@Gray
The sleep mask with rain sounds is such a soothing touch! Perfect for blocking out distractions. And the peanut butter trick is an interesting one! The protein and healthy fats can help stabilize blood sugar…

Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia is an awesome approach! It tackles sleep problems from a mental and behavioral angle, and it’s all about retraining your mind to see sleep as something natural and not a source of stress.
