What's one thing you've tried that actually helped improve your sleep?

Every supplement you can think of that is supposed to help with sleep I take before bed

Melatonin which didn’t do squat - no matter how low or high the dose

Weed works best for me but honestly its not an option for me at this moment in my life

Ending the work day is a big one. Leaving work at work and not taking on anything too stimulating at night helps. Enough exercise, turning off the phone as early in the evening as possible helps…

I am currently trying magnesium glycinate and have had some good restful nights. I’ve taken magnesium citrate for years, but I have read that the glycinate is good for sleep. I bought the powder which to when I run out of the tablets. More effective absorption, I believe.

I noticed that the more I let my brain go down the rabbit hole of deep thinking before bed, the worse my sleep was. Now, I avoid anything too mentally demanding an hour before bed… no heavy articles, no deep discussions, no intense TV shows.

Sound machine and black out curtains. They say a hot/cold shower helps but I just end up feeling really hot if it’s too close to bedtime. It wakes me up instead

Work my brain until I have mental fatigue.

I have never ever slept well, and I’m old, so even no phone, no light, just me in my dark room- no sleep. I take a crap ton of melatonin and Belsorma helps. Trying to get prior authorization so it’s not super expensive. Doxepin 25 mg is great but I’m afraid of the dementia risk.

I wouldn’t say I actively tried, but maybe my current circumstances allow for it now. Since I no longer feel the need to ‘force myself’ to sleep, it’s helped improve my overall sleep. I’ve been dealing with erratic sleep issues for more than a decade. Not being able to sleep or get the sleep I needed always made me stressed, not to mention that I had to wake up early the next day/morning because of my work.

But right now, my sleep is improving since I decided to work remotely as a freelancer. Because my working hours are flexible, I no longer feel the pressure of ‘I need to sleep now since I have work tomorrow.’ I also no longer feel stressed whenever I wake up in the middle of the night because I know that I can sleep later without any worries.

Any brand will work. Just make sure they are the silicone ear plugs.

Limiting social media intake before bed- specifically scrolling. I found that I was doing it to ‘wind-down’/‘relax’, and in reality, it was doing the opposite. I also try to journal before bed so that I can get all the shit that happened from the day out of my head. The good, the bad, just stating the facts, or emotions if need be. It’s helped me from ruminating on things that happened, because like you perfectly put it, when you’re working through a lot of emotions every day, it can def be taxing.

After I wake up, I Turn on my phone flash light and shine that light in front of my face for 1 hour. It just works. Resets my circadian rhythm.

CBN and THC my 2 best buddy’s for sleep

I’ve found that keeping a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends, really helps improve sleep quality. Your body gets used to the routine, making it easier to fall asleep and wake up.
