How on earth do you sleep with arms always in the way?

As I get older, it’s becoming a real puzzle: how to sleep comfortably without my arms getting in the way. Seriously, how do you all manage it? Any tips would be much appreciated!

My biggest problem is actually sleeping with a brain that won’t shut off. But you’re right, arms are a close second in causing sleep troubles.

Absolutely, it’s all connected, isn’t it?

@Zane
Tell me about it. My brain robs me of sleep regularly because it doesn’t know how to take a break.

Maybe just chop them off? Seems like a guaranteed solution for uninterrupted sleep.

That’s one way to solve the problem. Who needs arms at night anyway?

Right, who needs 'em?

I’ve actually thought about this but can only ever get through one arm. Sleeping on that side becomes easy, but what about the other arm?

Glad I’m not the only one whose mind went there.

Try hugging a pillow. It helps keep your arms in a natural, comfortable position away from your torso. It’s a game changer!

I use a thick pillow for this, sometimes even a second thinner pillow under the arm to keep everything aligned. Makes a huge difference.

@Pat
I’m doing the same! Pillows everywhere to support my arms, legs, and back.

Exactly, like tucking a folder under your arm. It takes some getting used to, but it helps with shoulder and back pain too.

You’re a lifesaver! Thanks for the tip!

Pillow hugging has been my go-to as well. Can’t sleep without it!

Pillow hugging keeps my shoulders from aching. It’s been a game changer for my sleep.

I sleep with my Great Dane for the same reason, plus the snoring is comforting.

I sleep with my arms above my head. Maybe one day the monsters will finally come for a tickle fight.

That would be one heck of a news story: ‘Person tickled awake by closet monsters.’
